TAPPING INTO YOUR TALENT

Roman’s 8:28 scripture says, “All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” Key words that jump out at me are ALL THINGS and HIS PURPOSE.
If we just look at the dark side of Covid-19, we will surely miss the GOOD. This coronavirus has caused many to look inward and tap into their talent, draw on something they know how to do or even TRY something new to supplement their income, to maintain some stability AND to HELP others where they can. Believe me when I tell you, it’s Beautiful!
I heard a wise minister once say that we all have talents and skills within. He said skills can be honed and polished to make us better. He said talents should be tapped and explored to see what you can do with it. He said, “you acquire an education for a skill but talent is God-given. If you are willing to pursue it and find out how to use it; you don’t have to go hungry or be homeless.”
As one who could have been either or both (at any given time) but chose to use her talent, I find this to be true. I can remember when speaking engagements supported me for an entire year when I was facing life as a single parent.
Instead of saying, “I wish I could do that” to another talented person, find out what God gave you and DO IT! We all have a talent for something AND if you are willing to do it to the glory of God, He will take you far and lift you higher than you can imagine. I have been blessed to meet some influential people, travel across the country and cross borders north and south because of my poetry and because I asked God to use me as HE saw fit. I know that without Him, many of the blessings I have received would not have happened.
That’s my testimony and I’m sticking to it!
