It’s a new year and I’m not looking for a new me but definitely a better me, not so proud that I can’t ask for help when I need it but also grateful enough to accept it when God sends it even when I didn’t ask.
Sometimes we miss blessings or help, being too proud. I remember the time I was at odds with my father and had lost my job. Bills were behind and I said, “Before I call my dad, I’ll live in a homeless shelter!”
Stupid me! Because it wasn’t about just me; I was separated with four kids. BUT GOD! He has a way of intervening even when we are being stupid. My dad called me. All he said was, “What’s going on, Peanut?” (That’s what he always called me – Peanut).
All it took was that question and I lost it. I broke down and told him everything. Well, there was no condemnation. He just did what daddies do. Bills got paid and I got back on track. The job even called me back to work. I was eventually able to pay my dad back but just like a dad, he only took half. LOL
PRIDE, it’s a killer or it can make you foolish and stupid. Don’t block your blessings or your help.
