Accept a Blessing to Be a Blessing

It is hard for some of us to accept a compliment. Someone says, “That’s a pretty dress” or “you look good in that suit” The response they get back is, “This old thing” or “I’ve had this for years.” Even worse is when we react with a “whatever” attitude.

We may think these are humble responses but truth is, we shot down a genuine effort where someone showed love.
God sent that person to give you love and let you know that you look good. Your response should be, “Thank you” “thank you for saying that” or perhaps even “I receive.” Why? Because maybe, just maybe, God sent them because they have had a hard time with giving compliments and you were the first one where they tried. Accept the compliment because that’s your blessing and when you accept; you won’t block theirs.
